Board member activities
A number of activities have been undertaken by Board members in 2011. Here are some of the details.
The work started last year regarding evaluation of the EU Directive 2005/36/EC in EU Commission.
EMA continues as a member of European Health Policy Forum and responds to many consultations and documents that are generated from health strategy sector. EMA also had an opportunity to join International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) and others in lobbying EU Parliament regarding parents’ right for accurate information on the formula milk labels.
EMA responded to the latest consultation the ‘Green Paper on the modernising professional qualifications’.
EMA was invited to participate in the Steering group of the professional card project linked to the Evaluation of EU Directive 36/2005/EC.
EMA together with the Portuguese Association of Nurses Midwives (APEO) hosted the 3rd conference on the Education of Midwives in Europe in Funchal, Madeira on 19h and 20th November 2010.
The branding was in process throughout the year 2010-2011. New EMA logo, words document, power point templates, leaflet, folders, envelopes and flag have been confirmed by the Executive Board of EMA.
EMA Executive board members were strenghtening midwifery associations with their present on national conferences and events.
The Board foresees 2011-12 continuing as a busy and important period in shaping EMA’s role within the EU and our activities in lobbying EU Commission and Parliament.
